Two Silvers and a Bronze: Jyothi’s Madrid Masterclass

Jyothi Surekha Vennam put on a show for the ages at the Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Madrid, returning home with two silver medals and one bronze — a feat that cements her legacy as India’s premier compound archer.
From start to finish, Madrid belonged to Jyothi.

The Triple Medal Haul

Jyothi’s remarkable campaign featured:

🥈 Silver – Individual Compound Women

🥈 Silver – Compound Women’s Team (with Parneet Kaur & Aditi Swami)

🥉 Bronze – Compound Mixed Team (with Rishabh Yadav)

Three events, three podium finishes — a rare feat that highlighted her elite consistency and mental toughness across formats.

Final Battles, Narrow Margins

Jyothi’s journey to individual silver came after a gripping final against Great Britain’s Ella Gibson. Both archers were neck-and-neck in precision, but Gibson edged ahead in the final ends.

Earlier, Jyothi led India’s women’s compound team into the gold medal match, where they were narrowly defeated by Chinese Taipei.

Mixed Team Bronze Sparks the Charge

Her medal hunt began with a bronze in the compound mixed team event, where she teamed up with Rishabh Yadav. That early podium finish laid the foundation for Jyothi’s confidence and rhythm in the following days.

Jyothi’s Year of Dominance

With this Madrid Masterclass, Jyothi’s 2025 World Cup season continues to sparkle. She has now medaled in every event she entered at Stage 4 — a staggering level of consistency that few on the world stage can match.

Her performance also strengthens her case for the World Cup Final, where only the top performers from across stages qualify.
