Tim David Smashes Fastest T20I Century for Australia as Aussies Seal 3-0 Sweep Over Windies

At Warner Park in St Kitts, Tim David delivered a T20I masterclass that rewrote history. With Australia needing a powerful finish to chase down 215, David unleashed a whirlwind knock, 102 not out off just 37 balls, to register the fastest T20I century for Australia, sealing a stunning 6-wicket win and a 3-0 series sweep over West Indies.

Tim David raises his bat after a record-breaking 102* in the 3rd T20I vs West Indies, the fastest T20I century by an Australian.
Tim David celebrates after scoring the fastest T20I century for Australia, finishing unbeaten on 102 off 37 balls against West Indies at Warner Park, St Kitts.

David’s Demolition: 102 off 37 balls*
There was pressure when Tim David walked in. Australia had already lost Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, and Cameron Green while still needing a big chunk of runs. But what followed was pure carnage.

David’s innings included 6 fours and 11 sixes, and he batted with a staggering strike rate of 275.68. He reached his century in just 36 balls, breaking Aaron Finch’s previous Australian record (47 balls) for the fastest T20I ton.
From calculated aggression to outrageous power hitting, David’s innings flipped the match in mere minutes.

Marsh, Maxwell Set the Tempo, But It Was David’s Night
Mitchell Marsh started the chase with 22 off 19 balls. Glenn Maxwell, ever explosive, blasted 20 off just 7 deliveries before a sharp run-out. Josh Inglis and Cameron Green chipped in briefly.

Yet, once David found his rhythm, the chase belonged to him alone. Australia reached the target, 215 in just 16.1 overs, with the Windies bowlers left stunned.

Windies Post 214, Then Lose the Plot
West Indies had done their part with the bat. Their total of 214 for 4 in 20 overs looked imposing. The likes of Shai Hope and Brandon King powered the innings, and the pitch offered plenty for stroke-makers.
But their bowlers had no answers to David’s fury. Despite two wickets from Romario Shepherd and one from Holder, they couldn’t stem the flow.

Australia Win the Series 3-0 in Style
This win completed a 3-0 whitewash for Australia in the T20I leg of their West Indies tour. After dominant wins in the first two matches, this third was all about finishing with a flourish and David provided that with fireworks.
