“From Track to T20: Salonee Dangore Joins Trinbago Knight Riders”

Calgary-born Indian spinner Salonee Dangore, who hails from Khargone, Madhya Pradesh (born 24 May 1998), has been turning heads across cricketing circles. Known as a leg-spinning all-rounder, she’s just secured a landmark opportunity—signing with the Trinbago Knight Riders for the upcoming 2025 Women’s Caribbean Premier League.

From Track & Field to T20 Spinner 🌟

Salonee’s story is one of reinvention:

Before 2015, she was a national-level athlete, excelling in long jump and sprint events, with no interest in cricket.

A shift in focus led her to discover leg-spin bowling. Watching Shane Warne’s videos taught her technique—but her googlies spun the opposite way.

Under the guidance of coaches like Sanjay Choubey, Himanshu Vairagi, and later, Narendra Hirwani, she fine-tuned her action to become a genuine spinner.

Domestic Dominance

Her professional ascent began in 2017–18, debuting for Madhya Pradesh:

She emerged as their top wicket‑taker in the 2019–20 One‑Day Trophy and also contributed significantly with the bat.

Ahead of the 2024–25 season, she moved to Chhattisgarh and led again—15 wickets from six one-day matches, plus 144 runs batting down the order.

WCPL Signing: A Breakthrough at 27

In June 2025, Salonee’s potential earned her a coveted spot:

She was chosen as one of the four overseas players for Trinbago Knight Riders, alongside stars like Lizelle Lee, Shikha Pandey, and Jess Jonassen.

Despite being uncapped and unsold in the 2025 WPL auction, her time as a Delhi Capitals net bowler left a strong impression on Pandey and Jonassen.

With the WCPL set to begin on 6 September 2025, this is Salonee’s first T20 league contract abroad—and a historic step for an Indian uncapped spinner.
