Dimitrov Breaks Down at Wimbledon While Leading Sinner
Grigor Dimitrov suffered yet another heartbreaking injury at Wimbledon 2025.
The 33-year-old was leading world No. 1 Jannik Sinner by two sets when he suddenly collapsed on court.
He had just hit an ace at 2–2 in the third set when he grabbed his chest and fell.
In pain, he repeated, “My pec, my pec,” before receiving on-court treatment.
Despite efforts from the medical team, Dimitrov was forced to retire.
He left Centre Court in tears. The crowd gave him a standing ovation.

This latest Grigor Dimitrov injury marked his fifth straight Grand Slam retirement — an unfortunate Open Era record.

No active top-30 player has retired from more consecutive Slams than Dimitrov.
Sinner Reacts With Class After Dimitrov’s Exit
Jannik Sinner, visibly shaken by the moment, spoke after the match.
“This doesn’t feel like a win. Grigor was incredible. I just wish him a speedy recovery.”
With the retirement, Sinner advanced to the quarter-finals.
He will face Ben Shelton in the next round.

Dimitrov’s Body Can’t Keep Up With His Game
This wasn’t the first time Grigor Dimitrov’s body has let him down.
But this one may hurt the most — he was dominating the match before injury struck.
