Germany’s Julian Weber, who had previously outperformed Neeraj at the Doha Diamond League and the Janusz Kusociński Memorial in Poland, took second place with a best effort of 87.88m.

Brazil’s Luiz Mauricio da Silva finished third, recording a personal best of 86.62m, surpassing his own South American record of 86.34m.

Neeraj Chopra returned to the Paris Diamond League after eight years, having last competed there in 2017 as a junior world champion, where he placed fifth with a throw of 84.67m.

His next appearance will be at the Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 athletics meet in the Czech Republic on June 24. Following that, the reigning world champion will headline the inaugural Neeraj Chopra Classic on July 5 in Bengaluru — a World Athletics Category A event that he is also hosting.
