Backup Keeper Incoming
Selectors are preparing to bring in Ishan Kishan as a potential replacement for the 5th Test. Although he hasn’t played first-class cricket since January, Kishan’s recent performances and wicketkeeping ability make him the frontrunner.
India Batting on Day 2 : Shardul and Jadeja Take the Reins
India resumed Day 2 at 264 with Shardul and Ravindra Jadeja not out on 19. Both looked good with a proper text book defense till now and will like to continue the same on Day 2.

Key Morning Session Ahead
India must aim to post a competitive first-innings total. Shardul and Jadeja must weather the new ball session, with England expected to take the second new ball in the first hour, offering seam and swing. The lower order including Washington Sundar, and possibly Bumrah must contribute crucial runs to push India beyond 330–350.

Day 2 of the India vs England 4th Test is set for mostly clear and sunny conditions at Old Trafford. While a brief spell of light rain is forecast around 4 PM local time (8:30 PM IST), it’s unlikely to disrupt play significantly, making another full day of Test cricket very likely.
